REGISTRATIONS ARE ESSENTIAL
TUESDAY 5 APRIL: Facebook and Instagram - Practical demonstration of key tools and features
Presenter: Michael Tavares
VIA ZOOM
930am - 1230pm
Facebook and Instagram - Practical demonstration of key tools and features
The first hour of this workshop will be a recap of Michael's popular Introduction to Social Media workshop for those who missed it in February and will help you decide which platforms are right for your organisation.
The next two hours will have a more specific focus on Facebook/Instagram and will involve live demonstrations for using the main features of these platforms. This will be an opportunity to see in action some of the features discussed in February, including targeted posting, boosting posts, using the 'insights' tool and creating a video story. This course will be run on Zoom so we can follow Michael's screen as he talks us through how to use these features.
(If these are platforms you use, we recommend you downloading the apps and signing in so that you can follow along and have a play with some of these features during the seminar).
Michael Tavares is an environmental activist who uses social media to create social change in his professional and personal capacities. His current roles are with The Zero Waste Network NZ, Island Waste Collective and the Waiheke Resources Trust. An experienced people and business manager, Michael brings together lessons learnt in the corporate and finance fields, with the experiences of activism and campaigning.

**If you're using Publisher or Word to create visual content, this seminar is for you**
Canva is an online design tool for people who want to step-up their visual content creation but don't have the time/skills/money for the complex programmes like Photoshop. Canva allows users to create professional looking brochures, social media posts, posters, event invites, reports etc. This seminar will introduce you to the basic tools on the free programme so that you can create amazing designs straight away. We'll cover some general design tricks and discuss how to use layout and font to make your designs look more professional. Finally we will demo the steps taken to create social media posts in Canva, all the way from signing up for an account through to uploading designs to your social media platform.
